INSTRUCTIONS FOR OFFICIAL

RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1

 

READING THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL ALLOW YOU TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE RE-REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 VIA INTERNET.

YOU MAY CHOOSE TO REGISTER FROM YOUR COMPUTER OR COME IN TO THE SCHOOL TECHNICAL UNIT OF THE PROGRAM WHERE WE CAN HELP YOU TO ENTER YOUR RE-REGISTRATION INTO THE COMPUTER.
IN EITHER CASE AND IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE EVERYONE'S TIME, WE ASK YOU TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE CALENDAR FOR RECEIVING AND PRESENTING RE-REGISTRATION APPLICATIONS THAT YOU CAN FIND FURTHER ON IN THIS DOCUMENT.

RE-REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR SEMESTER 2003-1

THE PERIOD FOR ENTERING THE RE-REGISTRATION SYSTEM VIA INTERNET IS FROM 24 TO 31 JULY, 2002, EXCLUSIVELY. DURING THIS PERIOD, YOU MUST ENTER THE KEYS AND GROUPS OF SUBJECTS YOU WILL TAKE DURING SEMESTER 2003-1 IN THE PROGRAM'S RE-REGISTRATION SYSTEM. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION TO THIS PERIOD.

THE SYSTEM FOR ENTERING SUBJECTS FOR RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 WILL BE OPEN FROM 9:00 A 20:00 HOURS SINCE ACCESS WILL BE FROM THE POSTGRADUATE ADMINISTRATION UNIT'S SERVER (PAU). AFTER THE DATES GIVEN ABOVE, ACCESS TO RE-REGISTRATION WILL BE CANCELED. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION TO THIS PERIOD.

PAYMENT FEES:

STUDENTS REGISTERING FOR THE 4TH SEMESTER (who first registered in March, 2001):

" IF YOU PAID $1,000.00 IN FEBRUARY, 2002, YOU ONLY NEED TO HAND IN A COPY OF THE RECEIPT OF PAYMENT.
" IF YOU PAID $600.00 IN FEBRUARY, 2002, YOU MUST NOW PAY* $600.00 FOR SEMESTER 2003-1.
FOREIGN STUDENTS MUST PAY IN DOLLARS AT THE EXCHANGE RATE PREVAILING ON THE DAY OF PAYMENT.

STUDENTS REGISTERING FOR THEIR 2ND SEMESTER (who first registered in March, 2002):

" IF YOU PAID $2,500.00 IN FEBRUARY, 2002, YOU ONLY NEED TO HAND IN A COPY OF THE RECEIPT OF PAYMENT.
" IF YOU PAID $1,500.00 IN FEBRUARY, 2002, YOU MUST PAY* $1,500.00 FOR SEMESTER 2003-1.
FOREIGN STUDENTS MUST PAY IN DOLLARS AT THE EXCHANGE RATE PREVAILING ON THE DAY OF PAYMENT.

EXCEPTIONS. YOU MUST HAND IN A COPY OF THE LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION TO PAY A DIFFERENT FEE TO THAT GIVEN ABOVE TOGETHER WITH YOUR RE-REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS.

In the case of students who will make a payment, please download the *Order of payment to be found on the electronic page of our Master's Degree and Ph.D. in Medical, Dental and Health Sciences Program under the section RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1.

The payment will be made under the concept: "LABORATORIES AND WORKSHOPS".

With this *Order of payment you can go to the Cashier's Office of the School of Medicine on the 2nd floor of Building "B" from 9:00 to 14:00 to make the payment corresponding to semester 2003-1 from 24 to 31 July, 2002, exclusively.

"THESIS REGISTRATION APPLICATION"

Together with the Receipt of payment and the 3 (three) originals of the SLIP OF PAPER WITH SUBJECTS FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 duly signed by the student, you must hand in the form "THESIS REGISTRATION APPLICATION" which you can download from Internet from the section RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1.
Register the title of your research project on this form which you and your tutor must sign.

TUTORIAL COMMITTEE

Ph.D. students must have a tutorial committee and must check that all the names appear on their re-registration sheet, together with the name of their tutor and the title of the thesis. All this must be approved by the Academic Subcommittee.
In the case of Master's degree students, it is very important that those who have one or several cotutors write down their names on the "THESIS REGISTRATION APPLICATION" form. If the cotutors are registered on the Academic List of Professors on the Program, the student must ask the Academic Subcommittee of his/her field of knowledge in writing to formalize the cotutor(s) as his/her tutorial Committee.

PERIOD FOR MAKING CHANGES (ENROLLMENT, WITHDRAWAL, CHANGES OF GROUP)

THE PERIOD FOR MAKING CHANGES (ENROLLMENT, WITHDRAWAL, CHANGES OF GROUP) IN THE RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 WILL BE 2, 3, AND 4 SEPTEMBER, 2002, EXCLUSIVELY, FROM 10.00 TO 14.00. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION TO THIS PERIOD.

This is a personal procedure that can only be done in the School Technical Unit of the Program on the dates given above.

STUDENTS FROM ABROAD:

Hand in a valid FM3 during the period September 2002 to February 2003. Notarized and with authorization to study in Mexico.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO RE-REGISTER

All students on the Program will receive the following catalogue by e-mail or may consult the electronic page of our Program or request the catalogue from the Person in Charge of the Operation Unit or from the School Technical Unit of the Program:

CATALOGUE OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES, SEMESTER 2003-1

The CATALOGUE OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES, SEMESTER 2003-1, CONTAINS THE KEYS AND GROUPS OF SUBJECTS THAT WERE PROPOSED BY EACH PERSON IN CHARGE AND THAT WILL BE GIVEN DURING THIS SEMESTER.

FROM THE CATALOGUE, YOU MUST IDENTIFY THE KEY AND GROUP CORRESPONDING TO THE PROFESSOR AND THE SUBJECT YOU WISH TO REGISTER FOR.

Period for ENTERING DATA FOR RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1:

RE-REGISTRATION:

RE-REGISTRATION:

HAND IN SUBJECT SLIP OR PROOF OF RE-REGISTRATION AND THESIS REGISTRATION APPLICATION FROM 24 TO 31 JULY, 2002 (IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROGRAMMING).

STUDENTS WILL BE ATTENDED FROM : 10:00 TO 14:00 HRS.

The re-registration by Internet system will only be available on these dates after which access will be canceled and therefore there will be no extension of the re-registration system.

Students who do not have a computer with access to Internet or who prefer to re-register in the School Technical Unit of the Program can do so only if they respect the calendar for reception of documents given further on.

If you opt to register in the School Technical Unit, it is very important that you have chosen the subjects you will register for in Semester 2003-1. To do so you can review the SUBJECTS CATALOGUE FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 and the CURRICULAR MAP of the fields of knowledge that are permanently available in the electronic page of our Program.

REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE RE-REGISTRATION SYSTEM, 2003-1
" Go to the Internet page : http://www.uap.unam.mx
" Type in your Account No.
" Type in your Date of Birth
" After consulting the ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES CATALOGUE, SEMESTER 2003-1, choose the subjects Groups and Keys you are registering for.


I. PROCEDURE FOR RE-REGISTERING VIA INTERNET:

1. Go to the Registration via Internet System at the following electronic address: http://www.uap.unam.mx

2. Using the mouse, click on STUDENT REGISTRATION.

3. A screen will appear. Click on the REGISTRATION button and the system will ask you for your Account No. and date of birth. After typing them in click the BEGIN PROCEDURE button.

4. The screen will show the your data and if they are correct click the BEGIN RE-REGISTRATION button.

If they are not correct, press the backspace key and type in the correct data.

MASTER'S DEGREE students:

- Type in the academic information of the student this semester. The data asked for are:

" The Key of the Academic Body: Type 012

" The Subject Key: This information can be found in the ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES CATALOGUE, SEMESTER 2003-1. It is important to check this information to avoid subsequent problems with the issuing of Grades Certificates.

" Subject Group: This information can also be found in the ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES CATALOGUE, SEMESTER 2003-1. The programming of schedules is related to the subject key and corresponds to the name of the Professor you will take the course with.

ADVANCED PH.D. STUDENTS
Type the student's data on the screen including the name of the authorized research project. Only type the following data in the Other Academic Activities table.

" RESEARCH SEMINAR

BEGINNING Ph.D. STUDENTS
Type the student's data on the screen including the name of the authorized research project. Only students registering for their 4th semester will type the Key and Group of the subjects they wish to take into the Other Academic Activities table.

5. After typing in the academic information, a Confirmation screen will appear.
Check the data and if they are correct, click the CONFIRM button. If they are not correct click the RETURN button and make the necessary corrections.

After making the corrections, if the data are then correct (that is, the KEY, GROUP and NAME OF THE PROFESSOR CHOSEN agree), click the ACCEPT button.

The subject slip will then appear and MUST BE PRINTED IN TRIPLICATE.

 

II. TO PRINT THE SUBJECT SLIP:

Click the PRINT button. The Print screen will appear. Check under Properties, on the Paper card, that the vertical form has been chosen, then choose 3 copies and finally click the ACCEPT button.

After printing the 3 copies of the Subject Slip, click the FINISH button.

THIS PHASE OF THE RE-REGISTRATION PROCEDURE HAS FINISHED. YOUR APPLICATION TO RE-REGISTER FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 HAS BEEN RECORDED, BUT THE PROCEDURE HAS YET TO BE FORMALIZED.

 

III. SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS AND FORMALIZATION OF THE RE-REGISTRATION:

After re-registering on Internet, all Master's degree and Ph.D. students must follow the following procedure:

3.1. Take your payment receipt, the three originals of your SUBJECT SLIP which you have duly signed and the THESIS REGISTRATION APPLICATION form which you and your tutor have signed, including data on the Tutorial Committee (for the Ph.D.) and on the Cotutors (in the case of the master's degree) TO THE CORRESPONDING TECHNICAL SECRETARY OF THE SCHOOL TECHNICAL UNIT OF THE PROGRAM on the 1st floor of the Postgraduate Unit Building from 10.00 to 14.00 in order TO FORMALIZE YOUR RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1.

3.2. Take your Subject Slip and Thesis Registration in the School Technical Unit where the data will be checked and you will be given the Program seal.

Your "THESIS REGISTRATION" and the three originals of your "SUBJECT SLIP" will be received by and reviewed in the School Technical Unit.
The registration form will be checked to ensure it is complete and, if it is, the documents will be stamped.

One copy will be for you, one for the School Administration General Director's Office via the Postgraduate Administration Unit and one is for your file.

WITH THIS YOUR OFFICIAL RE-REGISTRATION FOR SEMESTER 2003-1 WILL BE FORMALIZED

Please pay attention to the date posted below for SUBMISSION OF YOUR SUBJECT SLIP AND THESIS REGISTRATION (do not forget to include the names of your Tutorial Committee (in the case of a Ph.D.) or your Cotutors (in the case of a Master's degree).

After generating the "Subject Slip", the changes the student wishes to make may only be made during the PERIOD FOR CHANGES that will be:

This will be a personal procedure and will be carried out with the Technical Secretary of the corresponding Field of Knowledge in the School Technical Unit.
