WWW: COMPUTER ASSISTED TEACHING OF BIOCHEMISTRY

Design and evaluation of software for the teaching of Biochemistry

OBJECTIVES

SUMMARY

Software is being developed for the computer assisted teaching of biochemistry using Macromedia's Authorware Professional version 2.0, a PC friendly software. Biochemistry subjects that are difficult for students are developed in the programs. The approach is to permit interaction between the user and the program to favor meaningful teaching. The effectiveness of the software is tested by students on the Biochemistry course at this School. A pre-test modality in multiple groups is used. Both the pre- and post-tests have been validated and shown to be reliable by external criteria and by validity of construction. Software effectiveness in increasing learning is also measured to establish quality control of the software produced.
